Israeli warplanes conducted a series of airstrikes on military sites in the Syrian province of Sweida, targeting key locations such as Khalkhala Airport, Brigade 44, Brigade 405, Brigade 404, the Tha'ala Airport, and the Tel Kharouf radar station.
According to Sweida 24, the Israeli airstrikes resulted in one death and two injuries over the past 24 hours. The airstrikes on Khalkhala Airport also wounded two civilians, who were transported to a hospital in Damascus. Witnesses at the airport reported that the strikes hit aircraft parking areas and radar systems.
All targeted military sites had previously been evacuated by Syrian forces following protests on Friday, with local factions and civilian groups seizing large amounts of weapons and ammunition. However, military equipment related to artillery, missile systems, radar, and air defense remained.
The Israeli military announced that it had struck 100 targets in Syria, including weapons depots and air defense systems. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu also declared the collapse of the 1974 disengagement agreement and ordered his forces to take control of the demilitarized zone, where UN peacekeepers were deployed.
Sources from the Jabal al-Sheikh region near Sweida reported the movement of Israeli forces in the Hermon area near the town of Arna, and military build-ups near the border with the village of Hadr.
These rapid Israeli actions came without prior warning following the collapse of Bashar al-Assad's regime. Calls for civilians to stay away from military sites were widespread on social media to ensure their safety.
