Russian Forces Claim Capture of Redkodub in Donetsk as Offensive Pushes Continue

Russian military units from the 20th Army, operating under the Zapad (Western) Group of Forces, have reportedly liberated the settlement of Redkodub in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), according to official Russian defense sources.

The operation involved coordinated actions between ground forces, aviation, artillery units, and attack UAVs, resulting in the destruction of multiple Ukrainian combat vehicles and firing positions. Following the aerial and artillery barrage, assault groups advanced and seized enemy positions, conducting a systematic sweep of residential buildings and fortified areas.

The Russian Ministry of Defence emphasized that the success of the operation was due to "highly synchronized joint operations" and noted that offensive momentum is continuing, with forces steadily pushing Ukrainian troops out of nearby settlements.

There has been no immediate confirmation or reaction from Ukrainian military sources regarding the status of Redkodub or surrounding areas.

The settlement, located in a contested zone of eastern Ukraine, has been the focus of previous clashes, as both sides seek to control strategic points along the front lines in the Donetsk region.

This latest announcement comes amid an intensifying phase of Russia’s military campaign, as Russian troops attempt to consolidate gains and expand their presence in key areas of eastern Ukraine.
